| Kingdom of Piracy <KOP> is an online, open workspace
to explore the free sharing of digital content - often condemned as piracy
- as the net's ultimate art form. <KOP> was launched in 2001 in Taiwan
and presented at Ars Electronica 2002 with 14 commissioned art works and
3 writing projects. <KOP> is a floating, expandable kingdom adrift
in the codified open source open seas. <KOP> changes and grows each
time it is publicly shown. <KOP>@FACT presents, in addition to those previously commissioned projects, 3 curated works and the installation and web interface BURN. In this section you will find descriptions of BURN and the three newly curated projects, Frequency Clock, Nine(9) and Last.fm. Under 'art projects 2002' we have added a list with short descriptions of the initially commissioned 14 works. You can also directly explore all the works, texts and long versions of the project descriptions online at: http://kop.fact.co.uk/KOP/html/index.html |
