Both studied communication design at the Merz Akademie Stuttgart in the networking group of Olia Lialina. Released the Assoziations-Blaster in 1999 which won the net literature award of Baden-Württemberg in the same year. Finished studies in 2001 with insert_coin, an experiment on net manipulation and censorship, which was honored with the International Media Art Award 2001. Alvar founded the internet demonstration platform ODEM.org in 2000. Actions supporting informational freedom contain the setting of the first real life street demonstration for net politics in Düsseldorf 2002. Dragan is DJing, playing concerts and releasing records around the world with his home computer folk band Bodenständig 2000 (established 1995). He works as a teacher at the Merz Akademie. Both had several occupations as programmers, designers, system administrators, artists and lecturers.
